I was running a trail along the Brazos today when I came across a group of hikers. It was a single track, so I had to slow and walk behind them until there was a clearing. We talked for a bit and they had no idea where the trail ended and neither did I. Just a cool moment all around.

Ran my kid to the park a couple miles away in his plastic toy wagon a couple nice weather days in the past few weeks. Felt nice but I was so sore this last time. Was still recovering from a run a couple days prior.

3 miles in 28:40. Considering I was going to come home from work, lay on the couch, and bury my head under a blanket, I'm very proud of this. Also one of the few times my third mile was the fastest.

You're ready for half marathon training.

No way. I just saw there's a 5k Saturday that i'd sign up for if I didn't have plans that morning. There are hardly any other upcoming races here for awhile, unfortunately.

I know you don't believe you can do it, but you definitely could. Consider training for one and I bet you'll find a good one in the fall.

I feel like I should aim for a 10k first. I'm not sure I could do one in an hour right now, but I think I could by a few months if I can remain persistent.

Go for that. You could definitely do one in under an hour.

Yeah I need to try a 5 miler Sunday. I know i'd have to play around with my pace and slow down a bit a few of the miles. I'm going to set a goal of 52:00 minutes if I get out there and try it.
