I haven't listened to this album in a while. Can't wait to see how it makes me feel now.McParadigm wrote:2020 Diary Entry;

edit: I used to know how to post youtube vids here. Anyway here is the description so you know what you're clicking on:
"Here is a brand new source for Pink Floyd's performance at Nassau Coliseum on February 27th 1980. This is sourced from my own S-VHS tape and is much higher quality than all versions currently online, you can actually see their faces now!"

Pink Floyd has recently put up on streaming services a bunch of live shows from 1970-1972. Of particular interest is the Tokyo 1972 show that features a near full playing of Dark Side of the Moon a year prior to release.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

Not so fast. They are just copyright dump audience bootlegs, and often not from the best quality sources either.surfndestroy wrote:Pink Floyd has recently put up on streaming services a bunch of live shows from 1970-1972. Frank Zappa did the same thing in the 90's and was rightfully met with much derision.
But Pink Floyd has their heads so far up their asses right now, anything seems fair game.

Sound of what I’ve listened to is mostly good bootleg to FM broadcast quality. The early versions of DSotM songs is pretty cool.Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:Not so fast. That's fine, but this isn't exclusive vault material. They are copies of shitty old bootlegs that have always been on Youtube, but now you have to pay Pink Floyd for the privledge of owning them.surfndestroy wrote:Sound of what I’ve listened to is mostly good bootleg to FM broadcast quality. There are better sources available for all that stuff on better/more recent bootlegs, and that isn't taking into account the stuff that is sitting in a vault somewhere in pristine soundboard form (Montreux 1970, for example).
This is the equivalent of Pearl Jam releasing "Hallucinogenic Recipie" exactly as-is and calling it an "official bootleg". It's not interesting or exciting, and is frankly somewhat detestable.

I used to buy live bootleg fan taped cassettes at this little risky dink stand at the mall in the 90s that sounded better than these thingssurfndestroy wrote:Pink Floyd has recently put up on streaming services a bunch of live shows from 1970-1972.
