He's vaccinated, masked, and sitting away from the crowds, but that gym is going to be an unmitigated public health pain in the ass come Friday. Poor county employees are going to be coming in on Christmas Eve to call families all over the state.

I assume the problem here is the same as most places: No real enforcement of the policies.

The mandates here were such a joke. Certain retailers publicly disregarding them and no recourse brought to their owners.

It wouldn't piss me off so much if they'd done even the minimum to address it.
- Tell coaches of visiting to not show up if they're teams won't mask.
- Tell people coming in the building or into the gym to put on their mask.

I wish the Governor would require vaccination for student athletes, but absent that, I'd take those two pitiful attempts at safety that I listed above.

problem with this is omicron becomes contagious after 2-3 days, as opposed to previous strains taking more like 5-6 days. a negative test in past seven days won't catch plenty.
