Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I'd just like to put a word in for a combo of The Year of Magical Thinking -> Blue Nights, a rather devastating one-two punch of books about grief and loss and love

Read this one a few years ago but didn't know enough at the time to fully appreciate. The introduction is worth the price alone, basically spelling out Stirner's thought better than Stirner himself did in 300 pages. Rereading it has been invaluable. My copy is more highlighter than paper at this point.

I ordered 2666 from another branch of the library. Not sure how long it will take to arrive. Not sure i'm ready to start the new year with something so long either, but we'll see.
