Either that or they should send the gayest gay they can find, surrounded by drag queens and rainbow flags.

I adore it, front to back. I've been known to try and force it on others.dimejinky99 wrote:McParadigm wrote:I learned about Father Ted from a relocated Irishman… But he was the heaviest drinker I ever met, loved potatoes, and constantly talked about Phil Lynott... Still love that Father Ted, though.
Did you enjoy Father Ted though? And what percentage of it did you get?
I'm not being a smart ass, just I always have wondered about that show cos they keep saying there's gonna be a US version
I hope there's no US version. I cant see it going better than attempts to Americanize IT Crowd and Red Dwarf have gone.

I saw the last ever episode of the IT Crowd last night. Man, it was hilarious.

What? Why? It's a good solo, and I don't care much about solos. Stone's solo on Getaway suits the song, but it's not very good.Strat wrote:Lostdog wrote:let´s talk about mike´s solo on SW

Swallowed hole is an upbeat folky tune and stone has a much more systematic approach to such a tune that would be more fitting. Mike does his usual wankery (which I love!) but I think stone brings a whole new element to it and it would have been perfect for this. tight and concise.

I think its pretty generic. Stone would have brought a completely different and unique aspect to it.

You might be right, I'm not sure I know enough about their guitar styles except that Mike is a Hendrix worshipper. I'm not sure why I thought it was Stone on Getaway but probably because it's... different.Strat wrote:Hmm, i think thats a Mike Solo on getaway...harmless wrote:What? Why? Do you listen to Neil at all?
Mike is a blues wanker and it works for most PJ songs but when stone takes over it adds an entirely new element. Mike's approach is tried and true but can get very stale quickly.
Listen to All Those Yesterdays or any live version of their "Fuckin Up". Stone is just as visceral but at the same time he seems to approach it at a much different level than mike. on the surface it sems calculated but then you realize stone is just as an emotional player as mike but he doesnt have the same speed and dexterity as mike. So, the notes he hits seem to hit just hit at the last possible moment of what you would expect....
Listen to "Fuckin up " from Chicago 2009 and you can hear how the song is elevated to a different level than what mike brings with his wankery.
Stone would have been perfect for swallowed whole.

Swallowed Whole kind of hit me today. The beginning starts off slow, and I don't particularly like Ed's vocals in the beginning , but the bridge into the solo, the final verse, the chorus. It all turns into something beautiful and great, I'd love to see a fan made video for it. So much imagery in the song.
