I've wondered a few times, especially now in the lead-up to the final season, if the writers feel compelled to create a story that is dramatically satisfying as a standalone thing even for viewers who've never seen Breaking Bad. Or if they are gonna rely on viewers' memory of Breaking Bad in order to deliver a satisfying finale.

I think the main thing it will accomplish is a connection to the past and the current day black and white scenes
