So the only thing distinguishing apple cider from apple juice is the colour?

What I'm struggling with is the "apple" part. Cider, by default, is made using apples. So the "apple" part is largely redundant. Also, if it is alcohol-free, it isn't cider. Its just cloudy, weird apple juice. You crazy 'muricans.

Apple cider is unfiltered, unpasteurized apple juice. I love it, but boy does it make me shit.
