It was for most of the set. Ed was really hoarse and the ballads suffered. IIRC, he really struggled with "The End".
The thing I remember most from it was one of the better versions of Inside Job(I know, I know) that I've heard.
It's a patchy show - Amongst the Waves was awful and the End wasn't great either. Red Mosquito is always fun with BH.
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.
This, in a different way than Sirens, is one of eds finest vocals ever.
It's like a young Eddie vedder but with a mastery and full ownership and control of his voice.
It's huge when it needs to be but crafted carefully. Muscular without being brawny.

Have we worked out what ed is "bearing witness to" "sombre days ??"
"Substantial things"

It's OOOOKay!! Sometimes you'll find yourself...having to put allll yoooour faith, in noooooo faa-a-aith!! Mine is mine and yours won't take its place, now make your getaway-HEY!
I almost feel like this could have been on Riot Act. At least musically.
Eds vocal has far more energy and 'willingness to be there' on this though, if that makes sense.
