I usually guess words with lots of vowels first, but today decided to try a word with lots of consonants--my first guess was "slant," which really helped.
Spoiler: show
I got the first two and last right off so I wanted to keep putting double letters in the other two positions. Finally got it with the last try.

My fourth guess was tacky and then went with tabby and taffy for the next to. Tangy never occurred to me.

209 5/6

Got zero on the first guess, and two yellow on the second. Like an idiot, on the third guess I included a letter that was greyed out on my second guess and wasted the whole thing.

I picked taffy, too. Tally was my other double-letter try. I don’t remember how I came to tangy but at that point i figured it wasn’t going to be a double and I tried it on my last guess.

A less than 3 minute 4/6 exercise for me today. This one wasn't nearly as hard for me as it was made out to be, yet yesterday's nearly stumped me. The individual character of each human mind is a weird thing.

Or some people’s first guesses are just luckier than others.

I would argue that a first guess is part of how a brain works.

So what's your argument for it (particularly as it relates to the outcome, which is on what your statement was originally based)?

I use STARE or TEARS or something along those lines.

I tried ADIEU once. Never again.

What's my argument for how a person's first guess is a unique thought process? I don't really know what you're asking or getting at.

I use the same first guess every time.

no, you're implying that a person's first guess (or its effect) is something other than luck. why that person decides on which word to use is something entirely different. but the effect of that first guess on the chances of that person solving for the word is purely luck, no?
