I usually feel the quality is better on streaming or blu-ray, than through torrents. Also like just turning on apple tv and having lots of movies to stream, either through apps or itunes. Only negative is extra money spent.

If I get a good product I don’t mind using some money. Have several streaming services I pay for. However, I’ve always gotten appletv+ for free so far.

I always found the size of the files to be a limiting factor, but I guess hard drive space is a lot cheaper than it was when I was torrenting. What size are the movies you're downloading these days?

I have six 8 terra byte drives and I use Plex to stream to my devices. I need another one. I usually get movies at 1080p in the 6-10 gb range. Sometimes bigger sometimes smaller based on availability. I'm sure there are people that say that is too big or too small based a myriad of reasons but I find it a good range for storage and picture quality. At least to my eyes. Most TV shows I do 720p in the 1-2 gb range. There are a few shows I get in 1080p around 4gb for no good reason really. I've had one drive die on me over the last 10 years or so. It was a pain but I eventually got everything back. I have backups of essential stuff split up across drives now so if/when another one goes it's no big deal. If multiples go at once I'm screwed though. It's become a hobby more than anything getting stuff and organizing it and finding the perfect poster and all that nonsense. I'll never watch 75% of it.

Tremors. I had not seen it since I was probably in my early teens. It’s still a lot of fun.

We watched the original Tremors in the early days of the pandemic and then the last time we were at the local brewery they were playing Tremors Shrieker Island (#7) and I just could not believe that those worms were still at it.
