Re: Eddie Vedder - Earthling
Yes, this song would be a bitch to sing live but I really don't care. Love that he is giving it his all in the studio. May have needed multiple takes but the end result is brilliant and that's what matters.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

It is. Really, I think I think everything after the second chorus is pretty outstanding.Release_Me wrote:The final minute of this song is outstanding.

I love Ed’s guitar playing too. His right hand really is something else.

The new one is ok
The outro was nice

Still wish it wasn't so glossy, but I'm into this.
Strong track.

This song is Comes Then Goes' angry twin, thematically speaking.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

yeah, by far the worst part of this song for me is the vocal take; the OwO is strong from the start and put me right offJaeti wrote:It reminds me of WES/SBWM in the way it meanders and shapeshifts a bit. Feels related to those two in that way to me.Jorge wrote:It sounds like a Gigaton song

Re: Eddie Vedder - Earthling
if I was critiquing this for Ed (and I am, hi big fella), I'd point to that final section and say "there's your song, take it out, scrap everything before it and start over with that anger as fuel"

Personally, I'm really feeling the chorus.

Probably in the minority, but i'd be very ok with this release being more on the "pop/glossy" side. I have no issue with that as long as its done well!
