If the purpose of bail is to ensure the defendant's appearance in court, how is it served by having random bail funds post the bail? Do the bail funds at least have a requirement to assign someone locally to keep tabs on the defendant and provide them transportation like bail bondsmen do?

100K seems like low bail for alleged attempted murder
