Meanwhile, idiots.
TUMWATER, Thurston County — Late last week, disturbing rumors started to fly on social media.

The state Board of Health, they claimed, was about to authorize local health officials and police to round up people for refusing to get coronavirus vaccines and forcibly lock them up in quarantine facilities.

It wasn’t true. There was no such plan.

But the falsehood spread with omicron-like rapidity, fueled by misinformation from anti-vaccine activists, some conservative radio hosts and at least three Republican congressional candidates.

By the time the health board convened on Wednesday, the usually obscure panel had been deluged with more than 30,000 emails, hundreds of calls and requests from some 8,000 people to testify at its virtual public meeting. Some of the messages included threats to board members and staff.

In addition to the phone calls and messages, a couple hundred protesters showed up Wednesday morning outside the Department of Health offices in Tumwater, just south of the state Capitol in Olympia.

They raged at the nonexistent quarantine plot. Some demonstrators waved signs comparing vaccine mandates to laws passed in Nazi Germany, and accusing Gov. Jay Inslee of tyranny and treason. Signs claimed state officials were setting up internment camps, with one referring to Joint Base Lewis-McChord as “America’s Auschwitz.
Sounds like a whole lot of hearsay from both sides. The author, if this is the entire article, is pretty light on sources and proof.
Here’s the full Seattle Times article, which I abbreviated to summary level above:

This stuff will never not be funny to me:

So on Wednesday I am at the Husky basketball game as I mentioned, and about 3/4 through the game the guy next to me (who was with his wife) ultimately pulls his mask down below his chin and just leaves it there the rest of the game.

Yesterday same guy brings a buddy to the game and his mask comes off the instant they get to their seats.

Oh and the student band members were all wearing masks with holes cut out so they could play their flutes and trumpets.

Theater. It’s theater.

what's the point of all this testing? And don't say it's because you don't want to spread it.

Either you have it or you don't. You're either gonna die or you're not.

Because you don't want to spread it.

Also it's required in many work environments when symptomatic or exposed, whether you think it should be or not.

People aren't getting tested every 5 minutes because they are afraid of spreading it.

No it don't! They are so worried about testing because they are afraid of having it...or else it's just a good conversation starter.

Yes it do!

You can't spread it if you don't have it. You can't know for sure if you aren't tested (assuming it's not sh*tty test that doesn't work).

I think your other reason is better: If you catch the Rona you can get a few days off work. Otherwise, knowing does nothing!

My wife has kids who are at their dads but supposed to come back to us. Are you suggesting they come over without knowing if she still has it and then go to school?

Burt and I work from home and have no life or spouse and children. It affects us very little, but we are in the minority.

It's a little different if you already have it. I'm talking more about these people who are testing themselves every day to see if they have it yet. Edit: It wasn't in reply to your comment.

If you were talking about people who weren't sick or exposed, then you sure did a great job painting this picture...
