Short message service. In the UK, we say "texting", but I thought the US was all about "SMSing".stip wrote:okay, what does SMS stand for?ABNorman wrote:To anyone who would scream "Fuck you" to anyone on this board:
I work part time for an SMS Q&A service, and one of our regular customers (who has changed his phone number several times) SMS's us to ask what would be left behind if various dangerous animals ate little boys in speedos. Another customer flat out asked us to advise him where he could find underaged boys to have sex with in Dublin.
Think about that the next time you judge someone for feeling a little bit passionate/annoyed with one little rock band.
Well, I guess now everybody's about IMing. I'm old.

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
I wonder what song the lyrics came first for.Mine wrote:This are a couple of quotes from the Italian RS interview with Stone
regarding songwriting/in response why it took them so much time to resume "spreading their blessing"
Than he specifies the process does change from song to song :Stone wrote:Each of us brings in a package of demos. We go in the studio, mostly without Eddie, and we start to improvise together on those demos. We end up with a Cd with 14 to 15 tracks that we give to Eddie. The we go back in the studio and redo everything 2 to 3 times. At the end of all this we play the songs for Brendan. The songs take shape in this way, like a dialogue, then without realising it we're in LA recording the definitive versions. This time it took as longer.
about touring/familyStone wrote:Sometimes the lyrics come 1st. I like this method because the lyrics can push the arrangements in directions that are completely new, making you do things you wouldn't normally do. Mostly what comes 1st is the music, the melody, that while it takes shape brings the lyrics along.
On continuing with the band in the future/about keeping the band together as old men with gray hair like the Rolling Stones and othersStone wrote:You miss your family a lot on tour. Being away from a 6 year old daughter seems like forever. When i can i take her with me.
Ours is a spacial case. We can choose, and we do, to do only 3 week per leg long tours. We try not to overdo it: It's only rock and roll, the safety of the universe is not in question here. It's more important to take care of ourselves. This is probably why the band lasts as long, because we're still having fun.
Stone wrote:I don't see why we should stop touring at 60. Maybe at some point we'll say : "Ok, this was nice, but that's it!" As of now we have no intention to.
Oh the introduction to the interview reads something like this:
What makes Pearl Jam special, as they confirmed to the Italian Rolling Stone, is their public, Italians especially. All those fans that have always followed them as if they were a religion and after 4 years of wait are dying to hear the new record Lightning Bolt
Does he say anything interesting about any of the new songs?
Is it bad i hope they break up before they turn into the rolling stones? Cause i do.

So did I. I love languagesstip wrote:I laughed when I saw thatharmless wrote:Does that review call Eddie a "Douche" or Brendan?
This also reminds me of one Pearl Jam early entry line here a couple of years ago. A friendly security man was telling everybody where to go, and the Dutch word for compartment, or section, is 'vak'. So, the non Dutch in the crowd started asking us why that man said 'fuck' so much, because it sounds almost the same.

In this thread, I would first think "what song is DM?". And besides the shoes, what does DM stand for?harmless wrote:Whenever people speak to me about DMs I still think about shoes.ABNorman wrote:Short message service. Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
I think he made a good answer out of a stupid question and made a general description of their/his songwriting not just how they did it this time. At least the last sentence makes me think that. They've been saying they do everything 3 times before deciding what to do with for years now.stupidmop wrote:

That's all i've been able to find.
To be fair that was the question not the answer.

I bet those who haven't heard the prior leak are jizzing themselves over that LTRP verse. Alas, the chorus is going to shit on its fist and punch you in the face.

That's a very negative comment to make about the band and their songs. I think you owe Ed an apology.Juvenal wrote:I bet those who haven't heard the prior leak are jizzing themselves over that LTRP verse. Alas, the chorus is going to shit on its fist and punch you in the face.
