No matter how much Lanegan hates whatever he did with the Trees, those guys did a lot music....i mean they got signed with a mayor with already 4 albums or so?

Its funny how much he hates Lee.

Man, this books is so good. Lanegan really was super difficult, a bully, a drug addict junkie and fucking seller too! its hilarious.

I want to listen to both Whiskey...and The Winding Sheet again, its been a fucking while.

The memoir was really good (and for a brief window the Trees made some ridiculously great music, though most of their collective output isn't worth going back to), but it does start to get a little samey. I wish it went into his later years.

im sure he will eventually write another one with the latter half of his career. And yes, im a big fan of the Trees but i also get what Lanegan says about the first albums too.

I find it kinda funny they were so fucking disfunctional.

Well, seeing as he almost died (again) and decided to pick up the pen for another round I'm also hopeful he attempts another volume but I don't seeing it coming for quite some time, assuming he stays alive anyway.

My copy of Devil in a Coma is on the way at least.

Its a short read, I read this in about 90 minutes, and man he comes off like a self righteous asshole. I figured since his memoir was all set in the past, that this behavior was more a thing of the past but it’s almost unbearable to read how fucking hard headed he still is. I wish he would focus on new music more than all these books he’s been putting out.

I feel that may be the most telling notion of the memoir efforts in that his true nature is on full display, I'm not expecting any grand catharsis; it's a character study. I have not sought out Plague Poems or Leaving California.

I do have the collab with Joe Cardamone queued up next, see how that goes.

he is extremely difficult and in the past a junkie and also a dealer.

While it seems he is a better place, its still Lanegan. I remember Isobell Campbell talking about how difficult it was for her make music after a while.

She was pretty candid with it all (at the end) and it really comes as no surprise but I really enjoyed their work together.

The collab album with Joe Cardamone wasn't really anything to write home about in my opinion. Lanegan is in fine voice, though I do suspect a fair amount of digital massaging going on but the music itself is wholly uninteresting.

Yeah, Dark Mark and Skeleton Joe.

Some of the other collabs that he's lent vocals to recently sound quite interesting so I am looking forward to those.
