Station Eleven (HBOMax)

Post by B »

Anyone going to watch this? I read the book, and it was great, but I'm not really in that "distopia phase" anymore.

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

We've watched all nine episodes so far and are planning to watch the finale but I can't shake the sense that it's underwhelming. In some ways it really improves on the book, but at the same time some of the choices with how the multiple timelines are handled are really odd.

I've enjoyed it so far. I read the book as well, and definitely recall it going differently, but overall it's been a good series.
Spoiler: show
from the book i remember kirsten and tyler crossing paths when they were kids.

I just read the book last week, thinking I'd want to read it before watching the series. I was a bit underwhelmed, though, so I don't think I'll sink time into the show.

They don't actually interact, but they each have a copy of the comic book. She's in the room, I believe, when Arthur has his last conversation on the phone with Tyler.

About halfway through. It sort of has a Lost/Leftovers feel that I am all about. Taking my time with it.

In the "we should check out leftover" sense, not in the "loving it" sense (it was good but not great)

This ended up being the best thing I've seen in the past year or more on television.
