Lenny mentioned Killing them Softly last night in the Batman thread, so I stayed up until 2am re-watching it last night. Still so good

What I feel like happens is I'm criminally underversed in older movies so I end up watching the hits more than anything.epilogue wrote:I don't imagine our tastes are more aligned the further you recede into the past. Also you're completely wrong about our tastes in movies, I'd say it's a coin flip between whose aesthetic most closely matches my own on this board between you, Malloy, and Argo.

I know Vertigo and Psycho are deeply loved. I have seen both at least five times.

Rear Window, North By Northwest, Rebecca

I rewatched Notorious somewhat recently and I think that might be one of the most underrated Hitchcock movies. It's a top 5 for me.

Re: What movies are you watching?
I watched both Shadow of a Doubt and Marnie for the first time recently. Neither are especially compelling, though each have their charms. I was surprised at how almost amateurish the editing felt at times for both. I had to pause Shadow and Google if the version I was watching had a missing scene at one point. And Marnie has at least one, maybe two, montages that are so awkwardly paced they play more like too-short scenes stacked on top of each other. I was surprised

Re: What movies are you watching?
A know a lot of people who feel that way. But I fucking love it. So weird and tense and haunted and fucked up. It's one of my all time favorite movies. But I fully appreciate that it doesn't work for everyone.Farmer John wrote:I need to rewatch Vertigo. I was tired when I saw it and remember thinking is was boring as shit.

Not on Criterion, but yeah it's on the list.tragabigzanda wrote:I never saw Shadow.
You should put North By Northwest on your list if you haven’t seen it yet.
