I find it truly unfathomable that a guy who’s partner has suffered multiple miscarriages doesn’t at least appreciate another person’s desire for a trigger warning before a pic of a nearly-dead baby.

You're right--we're had five miscarriages over the past 18 months and our chances of having a family right now are just above nil, even including adoption. Some days it makes it hard to get out of bed and other days it makes me want to get out of bed and put a gun in my mouth. So I don't click on the "RMers with Kids" thread and I muted some of my friends on Instagram with small children. I would say the "being about Coronavirus" aspect is already a pretty big trigger warning. Asking everyone else to spoiler information they'd like to share in this thread because there's a kid in the picture or whatever it is that might upset you makes conversation more cumbersome while also offloading the responsibility onto everyone else to anticipate your entirely idiosyncratic psychological needs.

This isn't the front page of the Washington Post, nor is it 12 Chan. It's a sub-section of a Pearl Jam message board frequented by professionals, parents, and people who struggle with depression, substance abuse, and more.

And while I get that suffering and death are part and parcel of the world of covid, this thread has existed for over 800 pages with virtually nothing (anything?) as psychologically invasive as that picture.

If McP were a pro-lifer and posted a pic of a dead baby in an abortion thread, you'd all be crying foul. I'm 100% in the right that a picture of that nature warrants a spoiler, and I suspect -- though I wouldn't die on this hill -- that it's more a reflection of your collective numbness that you can see it and just keep scrolling.

Could you spoiler all this then? As unpleasant a sight as a dead fox.
