They obviously have that element in common but they're totally different animals. And made in vastly different ways. With different objectives. In different eras. With different obstacles and technologies.

When Fast and Furious puts out it's final movie will people constantly say it's < or > Endgame? Or Rise? Or Planet of the Apes?

It seems like the fandom (the internet) has forced a comparison that isn't totally natural. And then that's been extrapolated by some fans to become a gross kinda handshake and excuse for othering.

I don't really feel the need to engage in all of that.

It was a joke. You seem to have me all figured out and have lumped me in with "random internet assholes" due to my SW movie rankings? I could give a shit about all that other noise - which was actually one of my chief complaints about RoS - the Kylo/Rey or *ReyLo* bullshit was seemingly shoehorned in there at the end because of the Shipping communities.

*Tremor Jam will avoid SW sub forum hence forth*

Arguing about imaginary space wizards with laser swords is a lot lower stakes than the Israeli/Palestine Conflict or the System Racism Embedded in Modern Society.

Yeah buddy my response to B wasn't about you or your opinions. I certainly don't think you're some random internet asshole.

I'm sorry if that's how that read. Not my intention at all. Please stick around. Or if you don't want to, that's fine, but don't leave because of me or this conversation. All are welcome as far s I'm concerned. As someone who stans the ST pretty hard and gets a lot of shit around here for it, I'm the last person to try and drive anyone away or make sunshine feel badly about their opinions. Sorry for making you feel attacked.

I thought I had a point about how no one gives a fuck about The FF franchise, but F8 made more than TRoS, so really, what the fuck is the world coming to anyhow?

My 11 year old just finished the Skywalker Saga. I asked him to rank them. He said he wasn't sure about ranking all of them but Revenge of the Sith was his favorite because he didn't know Padme was Luke and Leia's mom and it all came to together for him after that. I congratulated him to making it to 2022 with that spoiler intact. He said his second favorite was Jedi. Next he needs to watch Rogue One and Solo. He told me unless someone is dying or the house is on fire he doesn't want to be disturbed. I think him and Dime would get along.

I can only put The Last Jedi above some of the prequels. Faulty as it was, the prequel trilogy is better than the sequel trilogy

Empire
New Hope
Revenge of the Sith
Rogue One
Jedi
Force awakens
Attack of the clones
Last Jedi
Phantom menace
Rise of the skywalker

Solo

They are all great imho (accept solo which is ok)

I hated last Jedi but it was on tv last weekend and I couldn’t turn it off.

It has some cringeworthy moments(porgs, yoda,Leia flying, milking etc....) mixed in with some great ones(Kylo Luke Rey Snoke). I’ve never had an issue with the depiction of Luke In this film. He was either going to end up a hermit (yoda/obi wan style) or turn to the dark side.
I was happy with his choice.

Interestingly rise of the skywalker was on this weekend and I couldn’t get thru it. I kind of lost interest After Rey hit the windsurfer thingy.
