i loved it at first but then got tired of it, didnt listen to it really at all for a couple of years and then when i did listen again i loved it, still fairly low on my list, maybe 5th or 6th, but i am a fan of it.

i loved it at first but then got tired of it, didnt listen to it really at all for a couple of years and then when i did listen again i loved it, still fairly low on my list, maybe 5th or 6th, but i am a fan of it.

that's almost exactly how it happened for me. upon the first listen i thought it was a return to form after Binaural (and Last Kiss) but i soon realized that my anticipation was fooling me into thinking that this was a top-tier PJ record. several years after that i thought it was bottom of the barrel stuff but now i think it's got at least a few tracks that make it worthwhile (Can't Keep, Save You, Cropduster, I Am Mine, Bu$hleaguer, Helphelp, 1/2 Full, Green Disease and All or None, namely) but not a lot of them fall in the stellar PJ category (Can't Keep might be the only one).

I hated Binaural for ages, not Riot Act, though I took a while to love it.

I remember it being hated for years probably on the pit more than here though. A lot of people had an almost irrational hate for it. It's subdued on purpose and this seemed the main issue people had with it.
