But this is what makes it easier. Narrows my focus. Otherwise I tend to push it to the fifth or sixth guess.

Turns out "hard mode" is the way I've played all along. Using the letters you've already correctly guessed seems like common sense to me. It wasn't until a stupid NPR think piece I read this morning that it occured to me that some people might not do that.

Yeah same here. Played on hard mode even before I knew it existed.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

None of this makes sense to me. Do you have a link to that article?

I do not understand why this is so popular and why there would be "think pieces" on it.

My think piece would be about how it owes its immense popularity to its piecemeal delivery system; you cannot just keep playing to quench your thirst; no, you have to wait until tomorrow to play again, just salivating all over the place, thinking about how you did in the last one and strategizing for the next one.

I have only seen it pop up a few times.

You must be heavy into the 45-68 female demographic.
