I think it can definitely be a difficult balancing act the more members you add (Pearl Jam is an example of a band that for me doesn't really handle their three-guitar configuration all that well), but Radiohead's always struck me as one of the bands most adept at it. I think it's the fact that the members, particularly Johnny, can so easily find another way into the song besides through the guitar (or, in Ed's case, treating the guitar to a degree that it doesn't sound like one at all).tragabigzanda wrote: Well I don’t think the lush production is a bad thing, or even inherently limiting; I just think that some energy can get lost the more stuff gets piled on, so they gravitate towards certain sounds that allow lots of cooks in the kitchen.

All this Radiohead talk and no one has pointed out that ‘The Smoke’ sounds much more like Thom’s solo work than anything from Radiohead.

I'm guessing some of those "come to Brazil" messages just got sent to the wrong Edtragabigzanda wrote:Is that true? Why’d he do that?swan wrote:It’s not Radiohead because Ed moved to Brazil

Loved the show! Joe Jackson cover to close it out was wonderful. Apparently Colin was in the audience. My crack about Ed was probably misplaced, but he did definitely move to Brazil.
