Isn't it weird how this song only has one verse?

Nope. As soon as it goes to the first chorus you never hear it again. Maybe people's complaints about the chorus would be lessened if they had another verse.

Yes.
And man this song could have been so much more. That chorus is so bad.

Yes it does. The whole future dim, let the green light grim, vaporize etc...
Thats verse 2.
Verse 1 is when the kingdom comes..
You're a mess, harmy.

Sorry guys.
The chorus is good, not great. But the bridge makes up for it. I like what the chorus is going for.

So far this is the only leaked song that I already skip. I anticipate skipping Future Days and SBM.

i haven't listened to this one in a while (although I'm trying to lay off the leaks until the whole album at this point), but I've watched that vignette a few times and it's made me miss this song.

I love the verses and the bands playing on this track. The chorus is good but its fucking cheesy. Doesnt fit the song. I dont like it. They should have zigged when they zagged on this part....
I think its too fucking cheesy and the easy-standard chorus. It is too jarring and totally takes away from the song for me.

i feel like the chorus swings a little bit following the dirty blues feel of the verses, but i dont think its bad. its just different. and really, i dont think it was the "easy choice". its almost like 'marker', just maybe not as good.
side note: the 17 year old in me wants the chorus to be "wakin' and bakin'"

Re: Let the Records Play
ive probably listened to it the most of all the new ones, except maybe 'getaway'philpritchard wrote:warehouse wrote:strat seems like he's trying to not like this song. the chorus isnt as good as the verses, but its pretty cool. i love this song. It's probably my least favourite of the studio versions we've heard so far, but I really enjoy it. I don't really go looking for it, but when it comes on, I like it a lot.

Re: Let the Records Play
Swallowed Hole is my least fave new song, this is my fave new song.
The guitar solo overrides the sour taste of the chorus, and the lengthy balls-numbing shredfest ending solo (which will occur live), brutally faded out on the studio version, will override everything sour tasting that has ever occurred in that particular building, ever.
This song is just an apparatus for the distribution of a very lengthy guitar solo (finally, thank god).
This has 'open road' sounding lead guitar effects only instead of ed whining about being lonely its more balls on your chin let's party and live its going to blow the shit out of your ass onto the wall and make you want to smear that shit all over your face in ecstasy.
or maybe just the ecstasy will make you do that
but either way it will be a blast, and shit will exit your ass, in a positive way

Re: Let the Records Play
Its totally the easy choice. Its stone picking up the guitar, doing that dirty verse riff and naturally oing where it feels it should go. Thats all fine, i just dont like it. I think a little time spent would have yielded a much more interesting and more effective chorus.warehouse wrote:please, stop being a fucking nerd.Strat wrote:warehouse wrote:strat seems like he's trying to not like this song. the chorus isnt as good as the verses, but its pretty cool. i love this song.
