Re: Eddie Vedder - Earthling
Agree! But still, I do see a distinction between watching a guy read lyrics for his brand new songs and watching the same guy read lyrics so he can nail Satan's Bed. Not a huge deal, but zaps a bit of zest from the performance.Strat wrote:At this point i rather ed have lyric help instead of butchering the lyrics as he seems to be doing more and more with the catalogue continuing to grow.

Rose of Jericho seems OK
eh, it's all dad rock, but so is Pearl Jam now
I don't really hate any of it, the biggest clunker is definitely The Haves, but overall I'm not super worried about influence from this stuff "ruining" Pearl Jam; at least none of it seems like he's hellbent on writing bubblegum Pop now or anything

lol that drum solo at the beginning of the Rose Of Jericho video reminded me of Dale's drum solo during the Catalina Wine Mixer

Can’t complain about any of those descriptions. I am waiting until Friday - don’t want to hear live versions first. There is no logical reason why.Got Some wrote:Fallout today - sounds like Mmj

I'm definitely curious to hear the album through
I feel like not hearing live versions first is a good decision, since the studio takes will suck the life out of them

I know we are all getting on in years but Ed is looking so feeble in those videos. I’m kinda shocked, his movement and posture is like a man 15 years older. Anyone else think the same?

Not having clicked the videos and listened to these songs but hearing peoples’ different descriptions if them is entertaining.

I don't really like any of the three singles. Even "Brother the Cloud", which a lot of people seem to love, doesn't really do it for me.
But so far, of all the songs I've heard, "Invincible", "Mrs. Mills", and maybe "Try" have the potential to be keepers.
