Yeah it can get pretty boomy up there. We’ve always lucked into having first or second row in the first balcony. Sound is spectacular thereCopperTom wrote:Yes.wease wrote:The upper balcony?CopperTom wrote:Last row.wease wrote:I’ve seen five shows at the Beacon. Every one of them sounded fantastic. Where were your seats?CopperTom wrote:Show was recorded for Sirius Radio. Hope it gets released someday. My recording came out all garbled.
Not an intimate performance by any means. Should have just played MSG. Eddie Vedder + any five musicians can sell out arenas in the northeast.
Glenn had guitar failure on one song. Eddie wiped out twice and he wasn't drunk. Chad was way too loud.
I have to agree with people - for a theater, the sound at the Beacon is subpar.
The Earthling album portion on the show is such a slog. EV seemed to acknowledge that. He needs to throw a PJ song in the beginning of the show to keep the crowd engaged.

Does Axl play sets of 70% other people’s songs?tragabigzanda wrote:Remember when Ed made fun of Axl for using lyric monitors?
I’m saying Ed does a lot of covers. That’s the joke. Lyrics he did not write himself. Thus the need for lyric monitors.

Both things can be true. Besides, the album comes out before i see him the 17th. My point - I wouldnt be annoyed if i saw the shows before the release. But im not going to deprive myself to prove a point.Bammer wrote:Strat wrote:Man. Just listened to this with some headphones. Kind of got chills at a few spots. Love it.joostone wrote:

i think with watt and klinghoffer, this tour has the potential to be really special. they played 'porch' with the jam from 92 and brought back 'dirty frank'. these guys know pearl jam the way we do. i wish EV would take the vocals on 'purple rain' but they could bust out weird covers out of nowhere. elton john and stevie wonder are on the new album, it would be wild to hear them cover one of them.
