Eddie Vedder - Earthling

When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

If that is how I feel about the album then that will be a great success!

liebzz wrote:As an aside, I have thoughts on the “sloppy” Pearl Jam - I think their lack of rehearsing had to do with the lack of new material. We already know there was a schism in the band about touring without new material in tow, perhaps that was the division causing them not to get together to rehearse that much since those FOUR shows they played in 2021 were well rehearsed and they sounded great.
I agree they've sounded good on the Gigaton stuff so far

folks, I'm not anti-Matt; his early career stuff with PJ was great (Binaural / Riot Act); it's been a mixed bag since then, and I'm not in love with the way he plays a lot of the older material

JC23 wrote:This was leaked on archive(dot)org today. Family member listened to the full album there today. Unfortunately, he had no idea it wasn't released yet and just told me about it tonight. Sadly I didn't get a chance to listen before link was down. But it is out there. No idea how to find it now.

Anyone have any ideas?
So, this thing has leaked?

semi-uplifting songs that aren’t too complicated yet have enough changes to get somewhere
“The Dark,” with its snappy arrangement, could have been straight off one of the decade’s better film soundtracks.
These descriptions are hilariously vague

The semi-aggressive "Invincible," with its functional chord changes and existing melody line, could have been straight off an album of recorded music

"have enough changes to get somewhere" could be describing a bus route

I'm really looking forward to this. A leak would be nice right about now.

Power of Right and Invincible have raised my expectations. Mrs. Mills too. I wasn't a huge fan of Long Way nor The Haves. I didn't hate the latter though.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

And yes, I loved Brother The Cloud but that was like the only one out of the 3 singles so I wasn't expecting too many songs at that or a similar level.

Ed is doing the podcast round again too. Guess he’s gonna be on the “Smartless” pod with Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes next week.

Ed now seems fully in 1990-1991 mode personality-wise.

It's a super fluff podcast but can be enjoyable in the background. I'm guessing Will Arnett is the one that's bringing him on?

In reference to the name Pearl Jam: "You're talking about a dick barf?"
