Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

How green was it?

Black and white movie made by John Ford. Won the Academy Award for best picture. It’s a beautiful movie, well worth your time.

The valley was indeed very green at the start, before coal and pollution made the land more dark.

Fox wanted to shoot the movie in Wales in Technicolor, but it was impossible to do so during World War II. Instead, Ford had the studio build an 80-acre authentic replica of a Welsh mining town at Brent's Crags (subsequently Crags Country Club) in the Santa Monica Mountains near Malibu, California.

I like black and white movies as much as the next guy but I was pretty disappointed when I put on How Green Was My Valley and it wasn't in brilliant Technicolor but black and white.
