How can you honestly even rank this album after one or two listens of a bad rip?

Re: Eddie Vedder - Earthling
the Elton boogy-woogy works great next to Mrs Mills, the vibes to close the album are very Hard Candy-era Counting Crows
the general eclecticism of the album could have sounded all over the place but it just sounds colourful
something about the album has me thinking "experimental" more than Pearl Jam has for a long time, excluding Gigaton; I feel like the course-correcting that began with that album is continued here and we might, I hope, be safe with Watt

Hot Take: Fallout Today is up there with the best Pearl Jam tear-jerkers.

Full listening right now after being stucked in some songs that I really liked (invincible, rose of jericho, the dark, fallout)...
the production/mixing is sounding great to my ears.. actually the only thing i'm disliking right now about this album is its artwork cover

It is my solemn responsibility to rank it on first listen in the other thread. God help us all.

I mean, FLACs can be bad. It depends on the source not the quality of the file. Upscaling is a thingStrat wrote:yea i have a flacMs Harmless wrote:it's not a bad ripMonkey_Driven wrote:How can you honestly even rank this album after one or two listens of a bad rip?
