Re: Eddie Vedder - Earthling
Only one listen in, but I like it. I'm pretty sure I'll come to like it more. It actually sagged for me a bit after The Haves (which I'm going to be fine with now that I can experience it through the homeless-couple lens and its bittersweet final note (as noted somewhere in this thread a few days ago)). Good & Evil grabbed me eventually. It's really after that that I felt less engaged.
But I think Rose of Jericho will click before long. I think Try and Picture are maybe the weakest two for me at the moment. Wasn't all that charmed by Mrs. Mills either, but again, one listen.
On My Way is a pretty knockout closer.

I definitely rate this higher than S/T - Lightning BoltLeatherhead wrote:Nothing I've heard makes me rank his work here higher than Binaural, Riot Act, Gigaton, or even S/T.Tj wrote:This maybe Eddie's best work this century.

The Dark is so good. That is some great synth or something. Very 80's ish sort of something. Wut? Could maybe be in some 80's movie montage of sorts.
really like it.

Lots of 80s references will be valid, and most will probably be more insightful than mine, but somewhere during The Dark I found myself thinking "Bryan Adams."Strat wrote:The Dark is so good. One would think in RM terms, a Lightning Bolt tattoo would be a disqualification. Autocorrect still wants me to call it “Lightning Bolton.”dad wrote:ohStrat wrote:HE SAID "Wow he has a lightning bolt tattoo he really is a superfan" !!!!!dad wrote:wattragabigzanda wrote:Wow he has a lightning bolt tattoo he really is a superfan

Re: Eddie Vedder - Earthling
I suspect it's mastered to sound at home next to the Top 40 artists Watt typically works with.
