Eddie Vedder - Earthling

When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

Yes. Thankyou Eddie. I’ve been asking for this for the past decade and this delivers. All of your shit tunes in one place, easy to skip with hopefully less real estate taken up on actual PJ releases.

More please.

The lyrics rule

Oh when you look in the mirror
Oh tell me what do you see?
An older woman showering in victim's blood
Or have yourself you deceived?

Do your rich accommodations
Numb you to what you believe?
Oh for the love of a gun you're like a bullet
Aimed to deceive

You talked yourself, you talked yourself
You're living a lie, you
Talked yourself, you talked yourself
You self hypnotized, you
Love your wealth, you steal yourself
And dare criticize, you
Get some sleep, I hope you dream
Your own death tonight, you

I hear you're gone on adventure
I hear you're living the dream
Oh with your poor excuse for a husband
A safari scene

Oh look at you dressed up as hunters
Like some fucked-up halloween
Oh a majestic creature and a bullet
And a dour queen

You talked yourself, you talked yourself
You're living a lie, you
Talked yourself, you talked yourself
You self hypnotized, you
Love your wealth, you steal yourself
And dare criticize, you
Get some sleep, I hope you dream
Your own death tonight, you

And I wake up with forgiveness
Every day in my heart
But for you I have not got any, dear
Oh you felt just fine
Looking the elephant in the eye
You pulled the trigger, fucking sick
I wonder why?

I wish you well, I wish you hell
I wish you left, by God
But in your dreams, yeah, in your dreams
I hope you never wake up
I wish you well, I wish you dead
And witness your karma
Change your ways and change your aim
Don't live in denial

Then right into Jericho. Great.

It's good. It's well written and not mean at all. Alfred Soto runs Humanizing the Vacuum and I've enjoyed his writing for a long time

I dont care if its mean or if they dont like it. Not my point.

Theyre just..exhausting and always so far up their ass and say so much without saying much at all. They are pitchfork. Dont argue this on me. This is who they are. I respect their commitment to it.

I was referring to liebzz's expectation that it was going to be mean. It's downright affectionate!

I Really like most of it.

Picture and The Haves Are just ok. Nothing wrong with the rest. It’s hard to pick a definite fav which is a good sign.

Its not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. But for a “solo” album put together on limited time it’s a lot better than I expected. Especially after the first two singles.

I don’t think the production is that great compared to Gigaton but again limited time.

Watts production reminds me of BOBs recent work with the band.

Just realized we got a Ed solo record not featuring a finger picked melody. A palm muted rythm a uke. Who would have predicted that.

I feel like you fixed your view on what Pitchfork is all about in around 2002 and you're sticking with it.

(I don't read Pitchfork.)
