Eddie Vedder - Earthling

When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

The 1975 did it too (Matty's dad, he isn't dead but you got the two generations thing and it was nice)

Agree 100%. What a blast of a song! It reminds me a bit of the Nirvana track "Ain't It a Shame" (from the With the Lights Out box), but more polished of course.

There are at least half a dozen tracks here I really enjoyed. Better than I was expecting for sure.
:heartbeat:

Try is also my favorite. So glad to read/see that people are liking this more than expected.

it wasn't terrible. there are at least two songs that I would definitely listen to over and over. and while most of the others aren't on that level, i wouldn't necessarily skip them right away when they come up on my spotify recommendations.

This thing might be a couple track too long (we'll see how it ages) but overall, this is strong effort with several real keepers.

It's surprising to me how many people are bristling at Power of Right. Because if I didn't know better I'd swear it was a Stone song.

I fucking LOVE Big Thief! “Not” is in heavy rotation for me at the moment. I can hear PJ covering this with Neil Young.

Long Way 3.5 -4 depending on the weather and what car I'm driving
Haves 2.6-3 music is good
Picture 3
Good and Evil 4 could be a 4.5 somedays
Power of Right live it was a 5 when I thought it had a Mark Arm or Stooges vibe now it has a finger 11 vibe but really cool lyrics keep it at 3.5-4
Every thing else is a 5 really like it. Brother may drop to 4.5 someday but the rest are 5's

It’s still terribly tone deaf and missed the mark. You think this elderly couple have more than the haves coz they have each other? I’m pretty sure they’d like to have a roof over their head, healthcare, a dignified life. I know what Eddie is trying to say, but if you’re going to point out the beauty of loyal love in spite of hardships, then fucking do it. The lyrics don’t get at that. They are clumsy as hell. It’s still a shit song. .
I thought they were just old. Now they’re old AND homeless?!? Tough go.
Wait, didn’t someone say they were homeless? Am I just making that up??? Pretty sure they’re double amputees though.
Watt said it was a homeless couple I think yeah

I really love it. On first listen I think I'd put it around 3 or 4 but either way I think it's one of the best on the record.

I like the opening of Power of Right, but for some reason I lose interest about a third of the way in.

Agree with the Mrs. Mills love.

Rose of Jericho seems to be a highlight for me, one listen in.

I could do without Picture. I didn't like E-Ticket either. Maybe Ed and Elton could have cut a 45 for RSD and left this off of their respective albums.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Yeah, I think Picture is the weakest thing on here for me. As much as I'm glad this exists to keep certain Eddie impulses away from Pearl Jam, I'd still prefer Picture be an Earthling b-side. But in the end, whatever.
