Still kind of blown away by the scope of this:

The racist exchanges have led to the dismissal of at least 85 criminal cases involving the officers implicated in the scandal. In the span of one week in November, the Los Angeles County public defender’s office received about 300 letters from prosecutors disclosing (cases that may be retroactively jeopardized by) potential misconduct by officers based on the texts.

There was a change in CA law making more police records public so all the agencies went into overdrive deleting all their old stuff before it became effective. I guess we know why.

1. No, but the idea of cops monitoring your posts and then sending someone to "warn" you about it is pretty fucked up. it's obviously a threat to stop doing what she's doing.
