Been listening to a fair amount of PJ these past couple weeks so I'm looking pretty forward to this this year -- I don't really care how it's organized or what gets included/excluded or even what wins (unless "In the Moonlight" has a shot), I just enjoy the discussions that emerge beyond the usual "x is better than y, etc." and what I learn about my own listening preferences/habits from the comparative exercises. Bring it on, and thanks Stip!

Agreed. By the time it starts my long ass journey will have been completed so I’ll be fresh and ready to battle - or more like vote.

while I dont like stripping the winners (otherwise the winner doesnt truly win) I will remove the last 7 distinct winners. after we crown this years main tournament winner we can dona winners bracket to determine the real winner

this starts monday. Sunday night really. I need 7 songs from the cut list to bring into the main tournament.

Obviously Olympic Platnium - a song I once drafted in a pearl jam mix tournament. It was my closer and I inexplicably didn’t win. Where was this love then?!!

2021 - Corduroy
2019, 2018 -Go
2017 - Last Exit
2016 - Hail, Hail
2015 - Do The Evolution
2014 - Insignificance
2012 - Tremor Christ

Which would leave past winners:
In My Tree (I'll stand by this as a legitimate win till I die), Black, Immortality and I Got Shit.

Yeah, I'm definitely in a similar spot. I haven't really listened to much PJ in the past year (not out of distaste, just familiarity), but Earthlings urged me to give a re-listen to some stuff, particularly Gigaton, which I was very impressed by how well it held up. I'm going back through some records and live stuff in the past week, so this is coming at the right time for me.
