Mystery Zone is easily a top 5 Spoon song for me... this new album is exactly what I want from them, though.

Re: Spoon
I went out and purchased this CD today. A rare occurrence the older I get. Popped it in, started driving, heard the first few of lines of "Held" and just smiled. It took me a second to realize what it was, and that's even with me owning Knock Knock on vinyl. Spoon reworked it juuust enough to make it sound like theirs, didn't they?

Re: Spoon
A little background - Spoon is a band I really wanted to like in 2007. Went out and got Ga Ga… on I think recommendations from here. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t feel anything in particular about it. Then I saw them live at Lollapalooza in 2007. Didn’t hate them but didn’t care about them either - not sure I even stayed for the full set. Haven’t touched the band since.
This morning, on all of your recommendations, I listened to Lucifer on the Sofa on the way into work - I was honestly one ear on the music and one finger ready to repeat listen to Earthling yet again if I wasn’t feeling it. First song, Held, and I was really into it - shocked by how much I liked it, so we’ll stick around for another song. The Hardest Cut - also great - The Devil & Mister Jones - even better…Wild, Feels Alright, On the Radio, Astral Jacket, Satellite, and the title track flew by, and damn if this isn’t that record I was hoping to get way back 15 years ago. I may just need to start over with this band.
