I didn’t hate it but I didn’t feel anything in particular about it. Then I saw them live at Lollapalooza in 2007. Didn’t hate them but didn’t care about them either - not sure I even stayed for the full set. Haven’t touched the band since.

This morning, on all of your recommendations, I listened to Lucifer on the Sofa on the way into work - I was honestly one ear on the music and one finger ready to repeat listen to Earthling yet again if I wasn’t feeling it. First song, Held, and I was really into it - shocked by how much I liked it, so we’ll stick around for another song. The Hardest Cut - also great - The Devil & Mister Jones - even better…Wild, Feels Alright, On the Radio, Astral Jacket, Satellite, and the title track flew by, and damn if this isn’t that record I was hoping to get way back 15 years ago. I may just need to start over with this band.
Amazing
After some time with New one, Go through their discography backwards, itll be easier for you

“What I wanted was to make a record that felt good to listen to, that felt right on, that felt kick ass,” says Daniel. “The kind of record that is not a headphone record, it’s not a weeping in your bedroom kind of record — although I love those records, too. That’s just not what I wanted to make on this one. Post-pandemic, I think the world needs that even more, the record that feels good blasting outta your radio.”

Yeah that tracks, Strat. I took this one with me on a long drive this morning. You haven't heard the title song until you've heard it when you've been on the road for nearly an hour and the sun hasn't even come up yet.

Great “blast it outta the radio” album and great headphone album. I freakin love how it sounds on headphones.

Tell me the truth later
And just lie tonight
For now I need peace
And nothing feels right
And I'm stuck with all your pictures
A box of cigarettes
All your old records
Yes and all your old cassettes
Sometimes I wanna drive around and find you
And act like it's a random thing

I'm trying to hold off on declaring things, but I'm at least here already. First 6 tracks + the closer are already gripping me. Other 3 only suffer from not having captured me, yet. This album is so good.

Take a closer look at the penultimate track, rob. It's a nice one.

That's the standout for me. I loved that song ever since they started playing it around the time They Want My Soul came out.

Yea, this is one of those songs that doesn’t grab me at first, but over time is going to rise above most of the other songs for me. I already see it. Astral Jacket is the only one I haven’t really gotten into. Overall this album rules.
