Eddie Vedder - Earthling

When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

The Dark makes me think of Jane Fonda doing aerobics BUT IN THE BEST WAY

this is the 90s sitcom theme that The Fixer was trying to be!

The Haves

it's winning me over because I've unlocked its meaning to me, but there are several "oh Ed, ffs" moments

OK so I'm not a huge audiophile but,

do you think this kind of "flat" production that lacks depth and dynamics is meant to (whether or not it actually does) sound good for The Kids on their phones? I just wonder because I'm listening to it now that way and I feel like I can hear much of the sonic range, even without headphones
I feel absolutely certain of this.

The Haves would come off so much better if it was 3 minutes instead of a 5 minute epic

Gosh, watching this zane lowe interview and i almost want to credit stuff like this...all of it.....to having a guy like watt and klinghoffer in the room. Just hearing them talk about the process and what they got out of ed. im into it.

I've had this thought, too, particularly when I'm listening to Good & Evil through headphones but feel like it might as well be playing on my phone.

Yeah, I think the production/mixing/mastering is certainly geared in the direction of modern rock (it's not too drastic a progression from how S/T was mastered). I just think it neuters the heavy songs.

I don't believe for a moment there's any intentional callback to Alive in that piano outro.

It's just Elton mashing some bluesy noodles.
