It has one good set-piece, the "I want to be in America" song. It's the only part of the movie that struck me as really going for it and opening up and having fun. (That's also the best scene in the original, but more on the strength of the song itself). Most of the movie is just fifty sissy actor boys pretending to be tough (I'm sorry). I spent most of the movie laughing to myself at how silly it was, and then that one song in the middle laughing because of how truly lively and enjoyable it was

Taste, by Le Bao. Another beautiful looking movie from 2021 but this one has 500% more nudity than West Side Story

This Saturday I'm gonna get stoned and watch Spencer again, this time on the big screen

Sweet. Getting the munchies during Spencer is especially complex and fraught

I hate smoking so I use edibles. I'll take one before leaving the house, it'll hit me halfway through the movie and sweep me away in all its intricacies and make me feel like my brain is literally melding with the projection before me. I'll come away still dazed, liking it even more, and then the munchies will hit. Which is great 'cause there's a really good shawarma joint right outside
