As the years go by, I've definitely grown to enjoy "Hitchhiker” more. It's no longer a forgettable throwaway song. Does it come out ahead of "SoLaT"? Today, I don't think it does. But, hey, at least it beats the ever goofy "Dirty Frank."

It's hard to overstate the significance of that discovery -- it led to a brief period of spending hours at Wal-Mart, Target, etc., pouring over the tracklists of virtually every soundtrack and compilation album I could find, wondering if maybe there was an unreleased Nirvana song on, say, the A League of Their Own soundtrack. A largely fruitless, but fun, search.

Anyway, "State" is amazing. I am beyond happy that there are people voting for "Hitchhiker," but I can't be one of them today.
