This is only the fiction because that's mainly what this thread is about. I read way more non-fiction nowadays, though. Fiction has to really grab me for me to feel like it's worth the large investment of time.

Also, that is my set of Fawlty Towers VHS tapes on the end there. I found them in a laundromat about eight years ago

I should be embarrassed to admit that I've never read Coover but in times of trouble I can always fall back on the old caveat (fiction is for the weak!). For my money, that Bolaño novella is probably the most exciting and you can finish it in a day. I loved Love in the Time of Cholera when I read it in my early 20s, not sure how I'd feel about it now--I found it deeply affecting but I worry it might be incredibly misogynistic on re-read. I never felt the need to finish The Book of Disquiet--tons of beautiful passages but I'm not sure it's a novel, exactly. Unless I have a compelling professional reason I don't think I'll ever read another Charles Dickens novel. Jemisin is too sci-fi for my tastes but I've heard it's good. Vandermeer is on my vague and distant to-read list, Bulgakov finally graduated to the more immediate one--I might start it as soon as I'm done with TSH.
