Toxic is better
Sometimes I wanna drive around and find you
And act like it's a random thing

tragabigzanda wrote:One thing that really strikes me about the late 90s/early aughts pop music is how low rent it sounds. I don’t mean like “boy bands sucks” or even “it’s too compressed,” but just that the techniques hadn’t really been fully developed yet.

Things that were supposed to make the songs sound huge actually sound laughably small and not dramatic compared to things that came out even a couple years later. The difference between One More Time and Toxic is vast.
That's probably true.

But fuck BOMT is just so infectious!

But also, something lik Gangsta's Paradise sounds GREAT.

You should see the reception those opening piano notes get at Millennial Nostalgia Night at the club

I agree, and that's part of why I love "All That" by Carly Rae Jepsen. It took the verse melody of "Sometimes" and made it an after-hours slow-jam

The 2010’s were a better decade for rock/guitar music than the 1990’s.

Pearl Jam in the 90s alone is probably enough to prove that wrong.
