Once I bought a new Malkmus album, got wicked stoned, threw it in my stereo and laid down with my headphones on. After four songs I thought “this is really lo fi even for Malkmus.” Then I realized I’d never plugged my headphones in and was hearing the stereo muted by my disconnected headphones.
