All three songs have their pros and cons:

In Hiding: Awesome instrumental composition, horrible lyrics and a grating chorus.

Leash: Goofy sentiment, incredible vocal performance

Hitchhiker: Boring song with an awesome bridge

I’ll take the passionate fury of Leash over the other two any day

Time upon a once, I would’ve gone In Hiding. It’s lost some of its luster with me thru the years.

So In Hiding has a great pre-chorus, but I'm not into the riff, think Eddie's overall performance is a little nasally, hate the verse lyrics, and think 'I'm in Hiding' is hardly an epic sentiment.

Leash is a pretty minor song, but it's fun, and it hides a few big ideas in its juvenile bluster.

Black is a masterpiece.

Leash was my least favorite Vs. track from first listen, and I think it's stayed that way. I've never really heard what others hear. Black is a great song, but to be honest, it's closer to a song I've admired than one I really loved. It's strong, but I think there are future songs in the same general space that mean more to me. And I've always loved In Hiding; great vocal and a stellar performance by the band, particularly Stone and Jack. Compared to some choices this round, this one's pretty easy for me.

One song that I like, one song that I love, and one song that's arguably their best. Easy call.

This is it for me too, though I can still get carried away by "Black" on occasion. "In Hiding"'s philosophies and platitudes sounded a lot better when I was 14 than they do now but the music and makeup of the song brings it home for me; I love how winding and circular it manages to sound really just using a variety of suspensions on extremely common open chords.
