3 absolute gems from the early days. Going with Deep but I quite like all of these.

Deep and Garden are my bottom two on Ten. I do like Deep. It's been thirty years, and I've never been into garden.

Having said that, I love the Sonic Reducer cover (especially some of the early live versions - Atlanta 94 in particular) and I feel like someone needs to stand up for cover songs in this thing. Voting for Sonic Reducer, but I'll switch to Deep if it matters.

Garden and Deep are also my bottom 2 but some of those 95 versions where Ed's throat is completely torn....and the back drop of a very hot and ridiculous on again off again tour....there was some sort of....scary vibes in those performances.

Sonic Reducer still throws me off the couch when i listen but its a cover!

it's crazy to imagine that in some alternate reality Ten drops Garden and Deep and adds some combination of Wash, State of Love and Trust, and Breath

Sonic Reducer is a great cover, but it also benefits a bit from the aura of finally being able get a recording of it off of AOL sometime in 1998 when I didn't have the money to afford the $45 "Covers '95" bootleg CD at the record store nearby. One of their classics, but it doesn't quite clear the bar for me here.

Deep is just as ferocious, it's good, and it's their own tune.

Don't really care either way. Abstaining unless it matters.

I'm not really a fan of "Sonic Reducer." I think Pearl Jam is at their weakest when fully engaged in punk territory, even if that's only covering a genre classic rather than attempting their own. "Garden" and "Deep" are both about equal to me, and they feel like sibling songs, no doubt because of their placement one after the other in the final third of Ten. Both have stood the test of time better than many of the other non-single tracks from that album. Right now I'm feeling more the roiling, manic energy of "Deep" and its dark storyline.

I'm going to show some love to "Garden" here -- always loved that picking pattern, sounds serious and mysterious in all the right ways. It slightly edges out "Deep" for me. I could take or leave "Sonic Reducer," though a good live version can perk me up (I always thought the studio version sounded crappy).

I'm with KD here. I've always enjoyed Garden, good tune. Got to hear it live last time I saw these chaps back in 2009 and it was pretty damn good that night.

Didn’t you catch the 2014 BDO tour?

Sonic Reducer sometimes makes the second round, but never any further.

Garden made a top 32 in 2009, but that appears to be a fluke, since it's never passed round 2 otherwise.

A live version of Deep gets the song its best performance - the top 16 in 2019.

Nope. I was in a bit of a PJ lull and didn't want to travel to Perth for a festival slot. I'm a bad fan.

Love Garden. One of the best guitar solos on Ten.
