Tough choice, but I'm going with Dead Man.

Re: 37. Untitled (I’m Still here) vs. Wash vs. Dead Man
I've always felt vaugely uncomfortable, and not in a good way, listening to I'm Still Here - and I don't think I like any of Eddie's spoken word pieces.
I like the music in Dead Man, but I've always found the overall composition a bit boring.
Wash is not a song that excites me anymore, but it's the strongest song here, and I used to love it.

I love how "Wash" just sounds like its subject matter -- it sounds like little drops of water falling, washing the dirt from soiled pavement. A lovely marriage of words, music, and sound, and unlike anything else in PJ world. Easy vote for me, though like Trag, "Dead Man" has my utmost respect.

Wash pretty easily.
I like Dead Man, but there's something about that chorus that doesn't quite work for me.

Is it because you keep feeling like it should be saying "dead man walking...around?" If so, you're not alone.Farmer John wrote:Wash pretty easily.

Maybe, but it's kind of the vocal melody for me, I think.Kevin Davis wrote:Is it because you keep feeling like it should be saying "dead man walking...around?" If so, you're not alone.Farmer John wrote:Wash pretty easily.

Stone seems satisfied with the end result though, so I'm good.

Re: 37. Untitled (I’m Still here) vs. Wash vs. Dead Man
I've always enjoyed "I'm Still Here" in a weird way. It has the interesting combination of the meandering self-help-tape-style guitar and Ed speaking with a kind of clinical disconnect about his marriage falling apart. Definitely not an upper-tier song, though.
"Wash" is a classic early b-side with it's use of reverb creating a shimmering and fluid sound. I've always felt a bit of distance from it, though, outside of the excellent 'anti-guitar solo.'
"Dead Man" is one of my favorite non-album songs with its profound and moody austerity. The baritone guitar and baritone voice feel thunderous in their tone while the bowed bass drones and rattling percussion create an ethereal, eerie backdrop. My vote is with "Dead Man."

I absolutely love the music to I’m still here. Would love a 20 minute instrumental of that just itself.

I'm Still Here's another first round wonder, with its biggest loss coming against Education in 2014, 58 - 13.
Wash's high point was making the Top 32 in 2008 before crashing out against Alive.
Dead Man has never made it past round 2.
