Re: 42. Lowlight vs. Otherside vs. Save You
In 2014, Save You beat Other Side 43 - 35. Save You's best performance was a top 32 finish in 2012.
Otherside has never made it past round 2.
Low Light made the top 32 in 2006, at which point the public at large voted 923 - 179 for Rearviewmirror, a 744 vote difference.
I would've thought Low Light would've made a few more top 32s, but there ya go.

Easy vote for Save You. Great straight ahead rock song at a time when they were in short supply in the catalog. Interesting take on its subject matter (especially juxtaposed with Habit, at the time maybe it's closest equivalent). And Eddie's scream at the end was like water in the desert since we hadn't really had one like that since, what, DTE?
Otherside and Lowlight suffer from almost identical issues for me. Both are great pieces of music (I probably prefer lowlight's lush beauty to Otherside's cold atmosphere) but with a small handful of exceptions (NAIS being the big one) I am not a fan of Jeff's lyrics. Which would be okay, except Eddie's performance in both songs feels unusually affected which is distracting, but also forgivable if I liked what he was affecting more.

I don't like any of these at all.

Hmm. All great songs. I think i rather listen to low light these days. Nice and loud. Beautiful landscapes and wide open spaces.

"Low Light" for sure -- that little five-second passage about the two birds getting lost upon their way by itself would push this ahead of these other songs, both of which I like (and are each others' A-side and B-side!)

Very surprised that Save You is not in the lead.
