Probably a top 10 song from me and my favorite from lost dogs. Love it.

I absolutely love the intro. I think it's one of the coolest parts of the catalog.

Unfortunately I don't think the rest of the song lives up to that intro

It really doesn't effect the song, but i kinda wish the title stayed "letter to the dead"

Absolutely stellar. Immediate, catchy, quick, snappy and tight while still staying engaging and powerful. Songs like this, Undone, Corduroy, Daughter, etc. are what Pearl Jam embracing their pop sensibilities should sound like (to me).

I also like the original title much better, and I think it does affect the song somewhat, at least perceptually.
What if Jeremy was instead titled "Booger Farts", or if Leash was titled "Clown Murders". Obviously I'm being dramatic, but I think the titles do have an important impact on how the song is perceived.
"Letter To The Dead" brings up so many interesting thoughts. Far more than I think "Sad" does. At least to me.

That certainly is a well timed graphic at the bottom of the screen. Kinda made me want to get up and dance.

And yes, "Letter to the Dead" was the perfect title for this. Why they changed it, we can only imagine.

A billion times yes.

Letter to the dead is a cool title. It fits with otherside nicely too, and I love playing them together.

Does anyone know wtf mike is doing in that video btw? Stretching his arm? Signaling someone? Tripping?

I love the studio version, its got the same sound as the binaural songs, but with out losing any power like grievance does a little. And I love how the guitar sounds in the intro.

Those are all excellent songs. Peal jam embracing their anything should sound like that.

As per the long running argument that release_me (and myself to a lesser extent) have been making regarding the middle records, it is telling that undone and sad didn't make their albums

Undone would have stuck out like a sore thumb on riot act. Now if they added down and last soldier too you'd have something to work with.

I don't find sad all that much more catchy or whatever than breakerfall, a better song though definitely. But I think there's an interview where Jeff said it was a great pop tune, and that's why they left it off.

Sirens is a Sad prequel.

And as we know, the prequels are never as good as the main piece. And in this case the prequel is pretty good, so that makes the main attraction (Sad) incredible. :D

I want them to explore the style of Sad and Undone more but I'm not even sure what that style is. Interesting pop-rock songs that don't sound forced/like they're trying too hard maybe. I fucking love Sad and Undone.
