The Andrew Watt is appreciated thread

Post by Tj »

Hey thanks Andy. Hope you can do as well for PJ. I am sure you know as a superfan you know you have a big responsibility to help them make a magnificent album. RM would like the songs to breath more., better guitar tone, less word, less over enunciating, more Jeff, less Boom, Stone on vocals again, bring in Dave A for a number, have Stone play more weird licks, have Mike go off, no boring single word choruses. Others will also give input . I would like 12 2min Spritzie rockers.

I agree with the OP except for the Dave A. part. That guy needs to move on. It’s been 25 years

I think I'd like to see them get into whatever space they were in that got them to make Dance (as well as several other songs on the last record). It wouldn't necessarily sound like that, but that song sounds like a band naturally following their muse with less of a concern about adhering to the band's self-determined formulas. So whatever that is, do that. Hopefully, we'll see that happen with the new crew.

I a huge fan of Gigaton and its sounds, so im super exited for a new album. I hope Josh Evans is involved too in some capacity, maybe mixing it.

Or Andrew Watt can listen to the way the guitars all interplay with each other on Binaural and take that for inspiration.

Yeah, I'm fine with Watt coming on board, but let's also keep Josh in the mix. Please, pretty please.

From how I understand, Earthling and Gigaton were made in pretty much completely different ways, so combining those two producers (provided they were interested in approaching a new record in the same way they did on their respective albums) could be difficult.
