You Are is in the group of songs that are growing on me with each listen. But SOLAT is just awesome and gets my vote.

Both great songs. Each indicative of distinct eras in the band's history. Both meaningful and moving in their own way. I'll be happy with either advancing.

But You Are is the one I'd rather listen to most often. Voting for You Are.

Joe's got the right of it. Nine times out of ten, if I'm picking a particular song to listen to from these two, it's gonna be "You Are." "State" is a great early Pearl Jam song, but "You Are" ticks more of the right boxes of my aesthetics. It's spent a long time being at or near the top of my Riot Act favorites.
