Re: Movie: The Batman (Battinson)
of me pointing that out? it feels superfluos and another attempt of some hollywood talent to be as woke as she can.
In the other hand, there is absolutely nothing new about Catwoman being bisexual, so she could have said ¨my catwoman dresses in black¨ and we already knew that.
I dont think Zoe did her research on Selina Kyle.

Re: Movie: The Batman (Battinson)
lol "woke", I see
I guess as long as we know she'd fuck Batman that's all that matters to her character or her preparation to play her

Re: Movie: The Batman (Battinson)
Reeves has all but erased Selina's canon bisexuality from the film (again) so I'm sure she is just telling fans of the canonical Catwoman that she thought of them

it's what anyone is inescapably implying when they go on a rant about how irrelevant sexuality is to a charactertree_ wrote:wow.. that's not what he's saying

Re: Movie: The Batman (Battinson)
i haven't seen the movie... but is any character's sexuality even really a point of emphasis in it at all? something tells me not

At least when I saw it come up Kravitz was asked a question about a scene in the movie that related to her characters sexuality and she answered it. Not sure how else she could have responded.

Re: Movie: The Batman (Battinson)
Catwoman has always been a sultry, sensuous character; her flirtatiousness is absolutely classically part of who she is; her bisexuality is important in that context because it gives her autonomy and shows that she doesn't simply exist as a plaything for men (or Batman)

exactly, she was asked about her method acting, same as Paul Dano being asked about the clingfilm storybada wrote:At least when I saw it come up Kravitz was asked a question about a scene in the movie that related to her characters sexuality and she answered it. Re: Movie: The Batman (Battinson)
Are we sure she doesn't use her flirtatiousness as a means of manipulation? Thus putting her true sexuality entirely into question? Or do we get actual saucy details of her real love life in the comics or what?

Re: Movie: The Batman (Battinson)
Yeah, she was literally answering a question about it
As both a member of the LGBTQIA+ community myself and a die-hard Catwoman worshipper from way back, I felt it necessary to ask Zoë and The Batman director Matt Reeves if this potential nod to Selina’s sexuality was intentional or if it’s just wishful thinking on my part.
Well, according to Zoë, my interpretation was accurate.
“That’s definitely the way I interpreted that, that they had some kind of romantic relationship,” Zoë told me.
When I expressed how happy I was to finally see Catwoman portrayed as a bisexual woman in the cinematic universe, Zoë nodded emphatically and said: “I agree!”

Re: Movie: The Batman (Battinson)
you're raising one possible interpretation of her behaviour as a gotcha?
in any case, she obviously is a woman with sexual desires, who uses them in a way that isn't all about pleasing men or being manipulated by men; she also classically has a romance with Batman

I asked if we actually know who she is from the comics or what. I'm just asking questions.

Re: Movie: The Batman (Battinson)
So, if we know she's bisexual from the comics, I guess it is messed up that hollywood feels the need to sanitize the character for mainstream audiences.. cause I never really got that impression from the movies.. just thought she was manipulative

So it sounds like she did do her research then. Or it was just a lucky guess that she's bisexual?VinylGuy wrote:of me pointing that out? it feels superfluos and another attempt of some hollywood talent to be as woke as she can.

I dont think Zoe did her research on Selina Kyle.
