Brain of J is an excellent 3 and a half minute ramshackle spurt of energy. Both Go and Last Exit do the same thing, and do it better.

Alive is a magisterial, cathartic, clarion call in the silent darkness. It has an assurance, clarity, and force of will that Brain of J can never match. It is the Pearl Jam anthem that every other anthem has been chasing ever since.

J is my favourite Jack Irons contribution. No other drummer would roll that song in the same way.

Alive shouldn't have made it this far.

I’m never going to put down Brain of J, but Stip has the point on Alive. It is the epic anthem.

My favorite thing about this count-in is how purely superficial it is -- Mike would have no need to count only himself off, and the count isn't even really in the same tempo he ultimately falls into. It's great.

Easy vote for "Brain of J" for me.

That middle section of Faithful is a masterclass of tasty fills.
